From bonfires and burgers on the grill
Sitka, Alaska, and Britton, South Dakota
She’s from tulips and snap peas in the green house
From hair curlers and silk robes
“Don’t forget where you came from:”

Savanna Tisher is a 16 year old Junior who goes to Yaaḵoosgé Daakahídi High School. She was born in Sitka Alaska but was raised in Juneau Alaska. She wrote this poem about her Grandmother and how she remembers her.
