at the end of a dark table

at the end of a dark table, the boy sits

and waits for the bible to come to him,

the boy sits and waits for his time to read

aloud the words of the bible, because when

he does he can dream, he can place himself

on the edge of the world, take a long look

at the ocean as it colors itself violent, as it

shakes the sharks into the air, he can dream

a boat made of fins, a stealth machine just

for him.
