Ralph Pennel

Everywhere I Have Not Written

It takes up so much
of the page.

But, it does not
end there.

It has filled your
hands

And my hands
too.

This is not
how I

envisioned
the world:

so much, so
unaffected

by these
words

as if
we are

gazing
on stars

or anything
that

still reaches
us

through so
much

from so
far.

Ralph Pennel's writing has appeared in Common Ground Review, Ropes, The Cape Rock, Open to Interpretation, Ibbetson Street, Apercus Quarterly, The Four Quarters Magazine, Wilderness House Literary Review, The Smoking Poet, Unbound Press, Monologues >From the Road, Right Hand Pointing, and various other journals. Ralph has also published reviews with Cervena Barva Press and Rain Taxi Review of Books. His first poetry collection will be published by Cervena Barva press in the fall 2014.
