It's the smell that distinguishes this area of New York from others. A stench.

No one is talking about it, but it's there.

Uptown, they can't smell it, but down here we know. There's rotten food. And smoke, and soot. And more. So much more.

The stench fills up our mouths, our hearts. And we cry.
